STEAM is the acronym for a national movement to motivate and enhance the educational fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The movement originated from the STEM fields by individuals who added the "A" for Arts and feel that the Arts are not only a vital and necessary part of education, but also bring new ideas on creativity and innovation into learning in the other fields. The STEAM movement is carried forward by educators, artists, scientists, and many others dedicated to a new transdisciplinary approach to learning. The Employee Arts Program is a model for this approach and works with corporate and non-profit organizations to advance STEAM initiatives.

The images below were created by Terry Williams and Thomine Wilson to visually portray the idea of STEAM. We offer the images for use by other people and organizations interested in promoting STEAM. We hope the images will stimulate others to create their own STEAM-centered designs, and only ask that a small credit be given in the form of a link back to this site.
